For a long time, mainstream media outlets framed the events that led to the passing of Rene and Divine as a “team building” activity. However, reports clarify that the gathering was, in fact, a training camp. According to DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, former Ateneo men’s basketball head coach Tab Baldwin was aware that five of the participants in the activity were unable to swim.
