Kris won’t press raps versus Joey if…
Will the ongoing Kris-Joey real-life telenovela have a happy ending, such as an out-of-court amicable settlement?
“Only if Joey will make a public apology and say once and for all that I’m not a liar,” said Kris Aquino during a phone interview with The STAR. “That’s my only condition.”

As of now, no formal charges have been filed against Parañaque City Mayor Joey Marquez who, experts said, could be charged for grave thr3ats, physical injur1es and infecting Kris with STD (sexually transmitted disease), as she revealed during an interview with her “Morning Girls” co-host Korina Sanchez on ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” Wednesday night.
Marquez accused Kris of telling tall tales and inventing stories, to the extent of hurting herself and making it appear that it was he who did it.
Kris vehemently denied Marquez’s accusation, insisting that he not only beat her up but also poked a gun at her and then cocked it during their violent fight Monday night, prompting Kris to run home with her son Joshua to her mom’s (former President Corazon Aquino) house on Times street in Quezon City.
“You’re the liar,” said Kris during that TV interview. “You asked me to tell the truth; I am telling the truth,” adding that Marquez should have “the balls” to do the same.

Meanwhile, former President Aquino said she has been praying for enlightenment not only for her daughter Kris, but also for Marquez, her daughter’s live-in lover for a year and half.
“The past few days, I have been praying not only for Kris but also for Joey so they will both be enlightened,” she said.
Mrs. Aquino also asked their family’s friends to do the same “and also to pray for me.”
She said she regrets having uttered the words “pasalamat si Joey, patay na si Ninoy. Kung hindi, patay siya (Joey should be grateful Ninoy is dead. If not, he’d be dead).”
Mrs. Aquino had made the statement after Kris confessed on national television last Wednesday that Marquez had cocked a gun at her, womanized and had given her a sexually transmitted disease.
According to reports, Kris allegedly contracted chlamydia, a gonorrhea-like disease, from Marquez.
“My emotions had gotten the better of me that night, after listening to Kris’ revelations on TV,” she said. “I am sorry for having allowed my emotions to get the better of me.”
The former president said she believes in non-vi0lence, a cause that had been espoused by her late husband Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., who was set to talk about it in a speech he had prepared for his return to the Philippines on Aug. 21, 1983 after years of exile in the United States.
Ninoy was shot down as he was descending from the plane. The soldiers convicted for his murder claim they are not guilty, and that the masterminds remain at large.
“According to Gandhi, the willing sacrifice of the innocent is the most powerful answer to insolent tyranny that has yet been conceived by God and man,” Mrs. Aquino said.

She added that she has always believed in non-vi0lence and asked all her family’s friends and sympathizers to also commit themselves to non-vi0lence.
Immediately after the interview, done in Mrs. Aquino’s Times street residence, the usually composed former president embraced her daughter and cried. Kris broke down in her mother’s arms.
Mrs. Aquino said she wants her daughter’s life to go back to normal as soon as possible, and assured Kris that she will take care of her and her son Josh, Kris’ seven-year-old son by actor Philip Salvador.
Reports have it that Marquez may have hurt Kris and cocked a gun at her during a heated argument last Monday after receiving a letter from his political party, the ruling Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), informing him that the party is favoring Parañaque Vice Mayor Jun Bernabe as its mayoralty candidate and Rep. Eduardo Zialcita as its congressional standard-bearer.
Marquez, who is serving his third term as mayor and reportedly eyeing the city’s congressional post, was also informed he can opt to run as Bernabe’s vice mayor. — With Ricky Lo
